Verdict · Editorial assessment
A general-purpose company-agent platform, not accounting software. In a finance stack, evaluate it as an optional knowledge and workflow layer over existing systems, with explicitly approved data access and human review. The practical shortlist question is whether shared agents can answer or assist with a tightly bounded finance process without widening access to payroll, contracts or ledger data; it does not replace the system of record.
What the vendor describes
- Dust says it connects company knowledge and tools through shared agents, with model choice, human review and separate permissions for agent data access and agent users. Source ↗
- Dust’s pricing page describes Business seat types with credit allowances and Enterprise additions including pooled credits, SCIM, audit logs, custom retention and legal terms. Source ↗
Pricing and commercial scope
The checked FAQ lists Pro $30/seat/month or $24 billed yearly with 8,000 monthly credits; Max $150 or $120 billed yearly with 40,000 credits, excluding VAT. Free seats receive 500 lifetime credits. Enterprise is sales-priced. Usage depends on models/tools; unused credits do not roll over, and enabled capped overages can add cost.
Pricing status: Public seat and credit pricing. Request implementation scope and delivery timing in a separate quote.
Limitations of this assessment
- Dust is not a ledger, billing engine or independently validated finance-control system. Finance actions require defined permissions, approvals and audit evidence.
- Business has connector/MCP and workspace limits; Enterprise governance features are not automatically included in every seat. Annual seats remain committed even when a member leaves.
European requirements to verify
- To verify: Dust advertises US/EU residency, but residency alone does not resolve model-provider processing, transfers or employee/financial-data handling. Verify the contracted region, subprocessors, retention and DPA before connecting European records; no privacy suitability determination was made.Source ↗
- To verify: Contractual hosting locations, subprocessors, international transfers and retention need a DPA review; the checked product pages do not establish suitability for a particular European entity.
Integration boundaries
- To verify: Dust names Slack, Drive, Notion, Salesforce and other connectors, plus remote MCP tools. Confirm whether each finance connector retrieves or writes, which identities it uses and how permission changes propagate. No accounting connector, action or reconciliation was executed.Source ↗
